Who you are really up against, what they are saying, and where the opening is. A clear-eyed read on the competitive field, not a list you already knew.
Every category has an obvious set of competitors and a less obvious one: the businesses that are not top of mind but are quietly winning the customers you want. Competitive analysis maps both, then looks past the surface at positioning, pricing, messaging, and share of voice.
The goal is not a scorecard. It is an opening: a gap in the message the category is telling, a segment nobody is serving well, or a claim your competitors can make and you cannot yet, and what it would take to change that.
